Red Dirt Skinners - Compound Energy

Compound Energy refers to the energy that builds between an artist and an audience during a live show. It is something created by everyone in the room, with the performers and the audience responding to one another as the show progresses. The title track opens the album, sets the stage and welcomes the listener in.

From there, Compound Energy explores a typically wide range of subjects. The album looks at life from a variety of angles, moving from everyday frustrations to much larger subjects without losing the character and sense of humour for which the Red Dirt Skinners have become known. Seemingly unrelated topics are brought together by the Skinners’ distinctive perspective on life and their ability to find something worth saying in situations which most people might overlook.

The result is an album about life in all its variety, and about the shared experience which brings music to life.
